The Dutcher Dock Necklace

The most collected-looking piece I make, in the literal sense: everything on it came off a beach except the chain.

At the center, a broad scallop in cream and dove gray, the ribs finely pitted from years of water. On either side, a cluster of whole sea snail shells, each one marbled differently in black, chestnut, and white, strung close together so they knock against each other. Beyond them, a graduated run of glass pearls, then a heavy gold curb chain to the clasp.

Substantial, and meant to be. This one gets commented on.
