This one came up out of the sand already showing off. The blue running through the ribs is the rarest coloring a bay scallop makes, a sort of ink and pewter streak that no two shells repeat, set against the tan and cream the water leaves behind.
The fringe is what changes it. A fine gold chain tassel falls from the base of the shell so the whole piece moves when you do, catching light down the front of a dress. The collar is a light wire hoop that sits open at the throat and fastens with a small hook at the back of the neck.
Not a quiet necklace, but goes with everything.
