Three Ponds Necklace

Three shells, three different beaches' worth of color. The left one is slate and sage with fine dark ribbing, the center runs plum and charcoal out from a cream hinge, the right is the warmest, all chestnut and toffee with pale streaks. Put side by side they make the case better than any description: same species, same water, no two alike.

They hang from a fine double chain that swags between them, so the lower strand dips in a shallow curve and the shells sit in a row just above the collarbone. An extender at the back adjusts the drop.

The proof-of-concept piece, and the easiest one to wear every day.
