A big shell, and a rare one to find whole. The ribs run from apricot at the hinge out through bands of tobacco speckling to a soft sage rim, the colors a bay scallop only develops over several seasons in the water. Most come up chipped. This one didn't.
The chain is the counterweight: thick oval links in warm gold that sit heavy across the collarbone and close with a lobster clasp. The shell drops just below, flat against the sternum, so it moves with you rather than swinging.
Wear it with a linen shirt open a button too far, or with absolutely nothing else.
