The Telluride Necklace

Warm all the way through. This shell starts as polished bronze at the hinge and deepens into bands of chestnut and charcoal toward the rim, with a soft sheen along every rib. It looks less like something from the beach than something that was cast.

Brown suede strands pass behind the shell and keep going, falling well below it in a long, loose fringe dotted with small freshwater pearls at every height. Some strands curl, some hang straight, and none of them sit still. It fastens with a gold clasp at the back.
