The darkest shell of the lot. Deep aubergine running almost to black through the ribs, with a faint violet cast where the light hits it and a scatter of pale flecks across the surface. Bay scallops rarely come up this dark, and rarely this evenly.

Five small mother-of-pearl discs hang from the rim in a fringe, so there's a flash of white against the near-black and a quiet clicking sound when you move. It sits on a doubled black suede cord high at the base of the throat, with a gold extender chain so you can wear it as a choker or drop it an inch or two.
