The blue is the whole point. It runs in a wide band across the middle of the shell, deep slate fading up into cream at the hinge and down into tobacco at the rim, the sort of coloring that shows up in maybe one shell in a hundred and never in the same place twice.
It hangs from a flat paperclip chain, lighter and more modern than the heavy cable links, with an extender at the back so you can wear it high or let it drop. The suede tassel below picks up the brown at the base of the shell and swings when you move, which takes the piece somewhere warmer than gold alone would.
Good with denim, good with a slip dress, good all the way from August to rodeo season.
