The Coastal Cowgirl Necklace

She's a cowgirl but she's coastal. This pink Calicio scallop shell runs a warm rose from the hinge out through every rib, deepening to terracotta at the edges and paling to almost white where the ridges catch light. Maybe one in fifty comes up this color, and fewer come up this color without a chip.

It hangs from a knot of black suede, with the cord ends left long and loose so they fall past the shell rather than being trimmed away. The strands double at the neck and fasten with a gold extender chain, so it sits high and close.
